Embarrassing post-nopocalypse phonecalls

The embarrassment of being wrong is enough to dissuade most sane people from peddling the-end-is-nigh scaremongering rumours. There are still a resolute number of people to whom the prospect of impending doom is incredibly real. Real enough for them to run to the hills, live in doomsday communes for decades, cancel their office insurance and shoot the cat.

What these people need to worry about is the series of dreadful phonecalls they’ll have to make just after whichever date the More

When the World Ends, I'll Take to the Sea

Everyone, perhaps after having watched a few zombie films, or enjoyed a little post-apocalyptic fiction, would think about exactly what they would do if the end of the world was coming, or if some sort of terrible event happened that cause the world’s food supply, or electricity, to be threatened, or if there was some terrible infectious disease taking everyone down. I’d personally be tempted to take to the world’s oceans.

You may feel like you’d perhaps be a little More

Truth Hurts

And while many people tend to believe that N Korea is a country of progress and military excellence and that the order in the country is well established - all citizens are happy with communism and all people in the realm are following the rules established by the higher authority. However, this is not what a N Korean journalist revealed recently taking a super dangerous hazard while making a short documentary footage of the reality in N Korea (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-11868641).

Surviving It

posted by admin in Uncategorized

I remember, vividly, what happened when the world did not end. The very moments of the now long-gone year of 1999 I am talking about, of course, not any other of the years when someone somewhere interpreted something and promised us that yes, we were doomed, but no we were not.

I was at a party (you were? Yes!) and standing close enough to a storage unit capable of holding me that I felt relatively safe. I say relatively: that’s a joke. At the time various people were saying how the sudden breakdown in communication would create widespread bedlam across the entire planet. For these reasons, and because I have an irritating tendency to take these things to heart, I had scoped out the room immediately upon entry. I had spied the storage unit in the corner: four feet by five feet, metal to protect from bombs and wreckage, and lockable on the inside. That was just a nice touch.

As the final moments descended, I put myself – drunkenly this was, and with very little grace and also arousing lots of suspicion from my fellow drunkards – in to a place where all I needed to do was flip the doors open and climb in. From then on I would wait with my party food – held in my pocket for some time just in case – until the world had calmed down. Until the fires had become less fearsome and such. Until it was safe to escape. Me, the only one alive! A storage unit survivor!

But it didn’t come to that so I just ate the food in my pocket. It was a shame I didn’t get to put my plan in to action. I sort of wished I hadn’t bothered.

To Be Or…Well, Not…

Shakespeare: undoubtedly the greatest writer to ever have lived. Or was he? Many people believe that Shakespeare was, in fact, not quite everything he was made out to be. And we’re not just talking crackpot theorists with a grudge to bear or people who pedal trailer insurance with nothing better to do with their spare time, no, many of these people are experts in the field of analysing and interpreting literature, and according to these people – who it would More

Conspiracy Theories

There are some conspiracy theories that continue to plague us with their mysteries. Whether these conspiracy theories are fact or fiction remains to be found. But, it is nonetheless interesting and even amusing to read about them. Let’s look into some conspiracy theories that have managed to generate immense popularity and in some cases even support from the people.

1) 9/11 Attack

The infamous sight where a plane rammed into the twin towers is unforgettable. The attack was planned and More

The World’s Oil Supply Will be Done In Ten Years

There are quite a number of conspiracy theories in the world ranging from the New World order to a number of paranormal activities. The most recent and worrying conspiracy is that the world’s oil supply is diminishing and will be completely done within 10 years. Due to the advancement of technology the need for oil has been and will be on the increase as time goes by.

The theory is ringing true as the latest measurements of the oil level More

The Death of Princess Diana

The untimely death of Princess Diana on the 31st August 1997 shocked the world. Offical reports issued by the French police, the French courts and six years later by Lord Stevens Paget report, deemed the car crash that took her life was an accident caused by driver, Henri Paul who was said to be three times over the drink drive limit.

More than a decade later, the answers provided by official reports leave many questions unanswered, culminating in countless conspiracy More

Chemtrails

“There’s one!”exclaimed Sean as we stuck our heads out of the top floor flat of a friend’s in London. “He’s lower than the other planes and the trail that the plane is making is thicker and lasts longer than the condensation trail of normal planes. He’s spraying us with oil tanks full of chemicals,”Sean proudly asserted. Oh yes, the government might be doing what they liked but Sean and his band of followers were onto them.

I asked a simple question. “Why?"Why would the government authorise the spraying of people? “Population control,”said Sean. “They want rid of us, they want world domination.”

If what Sean was saying was true, then we were living in a nightmare and there was, no doubt, even worse things to come.

I was familiar with the 9/11 conspiracy theory and with Princess Diana, but this was the first I’d heard about being sprayed with illness inducing chemicals. While nothing that the government do would surprise me (and this goes for any government) there was something about this theory that just didn’t ring true.

I know that this sort of thing has been used in wars as a weapon, so there’s no doubt that it exists, but what would a government of the UK be doing spraying us all with chemicals, when they live in the same city?

“But they have antidotes,”said Sean. My brow furrowed further.

“You’re telling me that they take tablets to counteract the chemicals they’re spraying us all, including themselves, with?”

“Yes.”

Oh. “Well if they want the population reduced how come the population is booming? How come we are in fact living longer than ever before?”

Sean looked sheepish. “Er, well, I’m not sure but mark my words, that’s what they’re doing.”

I need considerably more evidence before I buy into this conspiracy.

The Mysterious death of King Freddie of Buganda

posted by admin in Uncategorized

The mysterious death of Edward Mutesa II in 1969, affectionately labelled King Freddie by western media, passed relatively unnoticed. Other than a few skeptic commentators in his native Uganda, nobody was suspicious that the King of Buganda committed suicide having drunk seven bottles of vodka - in the space of several hours! But to understand his death we first need to consider his complex political and historical background.

Mutesa was king of Buganda, a major province of Uganda with its More
